Community Guidelines
Welcome to the Keyfactor Community!
We're glad you're here. The Keyfactor Community is where customers, partners, and Keyfactor employees come together to learn, share knowledge, and get the most out of their Keyfactor solutions — sharing recommended practices, exploring use cases, accelerating troubleshooting, and building connections with fellow security professionals.
Your participation is what makes this community valuable. These guidelines explain how to engage, what to expect from other members, and how we keep this a welcoming, professional, and productive space for everyone.
By joining and participating in the Keyfactor Community, all members agree to these guidelines. They apply everywhere you participate in the community, in alignment with our Terms and Conditions.
Getting Started: Creating Your Account
Some community content is available to browse without logging in, but membership is required to post questions, start discussions, comment, and access certain content areas.
To join the community, you must be:
- A current Keyfactor customer (EJBCA, Command, AgileSec, SignServer, Signum)
- A Keyfactor partner
- A Keyfactor employee
When creating your account:
- Use an accurate work email address — this is how we verify and approve your account
- Choose an appropriate username, and never attempt to impersonate someone else
- Keep your credentials secure and don’t share them with others
Your email address is kept private and will never be shared with other community members.
Be Respectful
The Keyfactor Community welcomes members from around the world with a wide range of backgrounds, experience levels, and perspectives. Please do your part to make this an inclusive, professional space for everyone.
We do not tolerate:
- Racist, sexist, or other discriminatory language or behavior
- Personal attacks, harassment, bullying, or intimidation of any kind
- Defamatory, offensive, or obscene language
- Threats of any kind
- Impersonation or misrepresentation of your identity or affiliation
You’re always welcome to respectfully challenge ideas and disagree with others — but please never attack the person. If you wouldn't say it in a professional meeting, it doesn't belong here.
We want this to be a welcoming, professional space for a wide range of people and workplaces.
Keep it Professional
This is a professional community. Please keep your content workplace-appropriate at all times.
Content that isn’t welcome here includes:
- Spam, trolling, flaming, or deliberately provocative posts
- Sexually explicit content or content promoting illegal activity
- Misleading, false, or deceptive information
- Malicious links or software
- Content owned by others without permission to use or share it
- Content we deem inappropriate will be flagged and removed. Members who repeatedly violate these guidelines may have their access restricted or revoked.
Protect Privacy and Confidentiality
Be thoughtful about the information you share - some community content is publicly visible.
Please do not share:
- Passwords, credentials, or account information
- Personal information about yourself or others without consent
- Confidential or proprietary information from your organization or anyone else's
- Screenshots or files containing sensitive company data
- Financial information or personal identification details
If your question requires sharing sensitive information to get help, please contact Keyfactor Support directly rather than posting in the community.
No Spam or Self-Promotion
The Keyfactor Community is a knowledge-sharing space, not a marketplace.
Please do not:
- Advertise or promote products, services, or third-party tools
- Post commercial content or solicit other members
- Promote unrelated websites, communities, or platforms
- Ask the same question in multiple spaces — it creates clutter and makes it harder for members to help you efficiently
Posts that are clearly promotional in nature will be removed.
Ask Great Questions — Help Us Help You
The community works best when you bring context. The more specific you are, the faster and more useful the responses you'll receive.
When posting a question, include:
- A specific, descriptive title that summarizes your problem
- What you're trying to achieve — your goal, not just the error or symptom
- What you've already tried — this saves time and shows your effort
- Relevant context — product version, platform, environment, error messages, or screenshots
And make sure you’re posting in the right place: product-specific questions belong in the relevant product space, while broader discussions belong in the topic spaces (PKI, PQC, AI, IoT, Compliance).
Recognize Great Contributions
Help make the community more useful for everyone who comes after you.
- Mark the Best Answer when a reply solves your problem — this helps future members find the right answer quickly and rewards the contributor with community points
- Like helpful replies — a simple way to show appreciation and surface great content
- Give credit — if you're sharing content or insights from another member, acknowledge them
You earn 5 points for liking a reply and marking best answers— helping you climb the leaderboard and earn community badges.
Be Patient and Give Back
Our moderators and Keyfactor team members do their best to respond promptly, but please allow time for the community to engage with your question. Response times vary depending on the topic and volume of activity.
You don't have to be an expert to contribute. Sharing what didn't work for you is just as valuable as sharing what did. Every contribution — a question, a reply, a like — makes the community more useful for the next member who searches the same topic.
Community vs. Keyfactor Support
The community is an excellent resource for knowledge sharing, peer advice, and how-to guidance, but it is not a replacement for our formal Support channel. If it's something others could help you think through , the community is your best bet. If it's specific to your account or requires a Keyfactor employee to take action ,contact Support.
Please note: While Keyfactor moderators and team members participate in the community, community responses do not constitute official technical support and are not subject to formal SLAs. For urgent or critical issues, please contact our Support team directly.
Help Us Keep the Community Safe
If you see a post or comment that doesn't align with these guidelines, please report it — you don't need to get involved directly.
To report a post:
- Click Report on the topic or reply you're concerned about
- Include a brief reason for the report — a sentence or two helps our moderators review it faster
Our moderation team will review every report and take appropriate action. We reserve the right to edit or remove posts that violate these guidelines and to restrict or revoke access for members who repeatedly fail to comply.
Enforcement
We take these guidelines seriously. Depending on the nature and severity of a violation, actions may include:
A warning from a moderator
- Removal of the offending post or content
- Temporary suspension of community access
- Permanent removal from the community
General Terms
Your activity in the Keyfactor Community is governed by these guidelines as well as our Terms and Conditions . Community content is member-generated — while you'll find valuable knowledge and advice here, your situation may differ from others who have posted. Use good judgment when applying information from the community and rely on it at your own risk.
